SNL Music: Lorne Michaels Pleads For Beatles Reunion
It's been less than two weeks since The Beatles won a Grammy for their AI-generated "reunion" on the song "Now and Then."It's also been close to 50 years since Saturday Night Live executive producer Lorne Michaels offered The Beatles three-thousand-dollars to have a live reunion on his show. On the April 24th, 1976 episode, Michaels said the four members could split the money evenly, or "if you want to give Ringo less, that's up to you." Seven months later, George Harrison appeared in the show's cold opening, asking Michaels for his money. Michaels said all four Beatles had to appear for the three grand, but Harrison accepted a 250-dollar offer to say "Live from New York, it's Saturday Night!"Harrison later joined host Paul Simon for The Beatles' "Here Comes the Sun" and Simon and Garfunkel's "Homeward Bound." While a Beatles reunion never took place on SNL, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr did make appearances on the show. McCartney and Simon are among the stars scheduled to appear on "SNL50: The Anniversary Special" this Sunday.

SMASHING PUMPKINS, FOUNTAINS OF WAYNE: Corgan Solo, and a Return
The full lineup for Milwaukee's Summerfest is finally out, and besides the big names like
Hozier, Def Leppard, The Lumineers and The Killers, there are a couple of very interesting names buried in the small print of the show poster. The weekend of June 26th through the 28th Billy Corgan and the Machines of God are performing. And while the band name comes from the Pumpkins 2000 album Machina/The Machines of God, it seems unlikely that it's the Pumpkins playing with Corgan. Corgan did a solo tour of Australia back in December where he was backed by the Austalian band The Delta Riggs. The weekend of July 3rd through the 5th has a mention of Fountains of Wayne, which is the first concert announced by the band since the death of cofounder and bassist Adam Schlesinger in 2020. The group also posted a picture of their new lineup on BlueSky, with Eve 6's Max Collins taking over bass duties. It's the first show since 2013. UPDATE: They've also been added to the Oceans Calling festival in Ocean City, Maryland on September 26th.
