Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators wrapped up a European/UK tour in Paris on Monday (April 29) and surprised the crowd by bringing out Wolfgang Van Halen to cover AC/DC's "Highway to Hell." Wolfgang's band Mammoth WVH played support during the trek.
“We’re honored that we’ve been able to tour with this next gentleman and his band," Kennedy said while introducing Wolfgang to the stage, "’cause I think he’s one of the most talented people on the planet.”
Slash then dove into the iconic “Highway to Hell” riff, with the rest of the band and Wolfgang jumping in. Bassist Todd Kearns took on vocal duties during the verses, and Kennedy and Wolfgang helped sing during the chorus. Wolfgang also delivered an epic guitar solo.
Earlier in the evening, Kennedy joined Mammoth WVH during their set to help perform their song “Take a Bow.”
Both Slash and Mammoth WVH plan to spend a good portion of the rest of the year on tour in North America. The Guns N' Roses guitarist curated a traveling blues festival billed as S.E.R.P.E.N.T. this summer in support of his upcoming blues-tinged album Orgy of the Damned, which is slated to arrive on May 17. Mammoth WVH is embarking on a headlining spring tour later this week, and then plans to support Metallica, Foo Fighters, and Creed on tours throughout the rest of the year.
