Arizona Man Shoots Himself In The Face After Firing Into The Ceiling

A Phoenix man is in critical condition after he shot himself in the face while firing shots into his ceiling. Police say the man, who they did not identify, was angry with his upstairs neighbors for making too much noise and confronted them. He banged on their door but was forced to return to his apartment when they didn't answer.

His neighbors told KNXV-TV that they weren't being loud and were just getting ready for bed when he tried to confront them. They say that he pounded so hard on their door that he left a dent underneath the peephole.

Once he was back inside his own apartment, he grabbed a handgun and started shooting into the ceiling. Police say he fired multiple shots and that his final shot struck him in the face. He was rushed to the hospital where he is listed in critical condition. Nobody else was injured as a result of the shooting.

Investigators have not said what charges, if any, the man will face. His neighbors say they are trying to find a new place to live as a result of the shooting.
