Pence Arrives in Israel After Tense Meeting with Jordan's King

Vice President Mike Pence is in Israel following a visit to Jordan.

While in Jordan, Pence attempted to reassure King Abdullah the U.S. is committed to restarting peace talks and a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The king says it's his hope Pence's visit would "rebuild trust and confidence" after the U.S. decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

In Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised Pence as a "great friend."

Pence is in the middle of a four-day tour of the Middle East. Pence told reporters today he had a "very frank discussion" with King Abdullah.

Pence says, "Friends occasionally have disagreements and we agreed to disagree on the decision by the United States to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel."

But the Vice President added, "What we agreed on was the need for all parties to come back to the table."
