Beck had to pull double duty at his show in Detroit this weekend.

The Detroit News says the singer-songwriter ended up opening for himself after scheduled opener The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger dropped out of Saturday night's gig at the last minute.

To accommodate the situation, Beck and his band retooled their usual set into two separate parts.  The first part featured acoustic versions of ten slower songs mostly culled from Beck's latest album Morning Phase.  And for the second part, everybody plugged in and rocked through a 16-song set bookended by two of Beck's biggest hits, "Devil's Haircut" and "Where It's At."

The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger is expected to be back with Beck when the tour continues Monday night in New York City.  Sean Lennon's band reportedly missed the Detroit show after running into border-crossing issues after the previous concert in Toronto.
